There are more than 10,000 licensed eateries in Bangkok, giving the keen foodie a myriad of choices, depending on the occasion and mood.
On a Saturday morning where the weather was forecasted to have a 90% chance of precipitation, my partner in crime, Paul and myself armed ourselves with brollies and took the BTS to Ekkamai and hopped on a 5 minute bike ride to Nhong Rim Klong, a very popular street stall sitting right above a canal! We were given an English menu by a friendly chap with whom we placed our orders and were told to come back in 2 hours. It was alright as we were mentally prepared and went to a nearby cafe first ( which turned out to be gorgeous )

Once we were seated, the food came quite fast. And we sort of understand why this place is so popular. The amount of crab used is prodigious! To the extent that 2 crab lovers like us almost cannot finish the 2 crab dishes we ordered.

We also ordered the garlic prawns which were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.

Dishes that they are also famous for are their pad kee mao crab ( drunken stir fry ), cabbage and tom yam. Will we come back? With some friends, ya..can order more. Reasonably priced, the 3 dishes we had with 1 rice cost 900 baht ( Jay Fai’s divine omelette costs 1000 baht, but that’s another post
Worth the 2 hour wait? At least once as it will be a most memorable experience.
